Management of a development such as this, where a whole new city district is to be realized, has to be integrated to be successful. Most responsibilities connected with development of the district are therefore coordinated by HafenCity Hamburg GmbH.
HafenCity Hamburg GmbH is managed by Dr. Andreas Kleinau (CEO) and Theresa Twachtmann. Henning Liebig, Dr Gesa Matthes, Nina Schaube and Peter Schulte form the extended management team.

When HafenCity Hamburg GmbH was founded as a wholly owned company belonging to the City of Hamburg, the HafenCity Hamburg GmbH supervisory board was founded in 1995.
Since its foundation in 2005, the high-caliber board has advised the management of HafenCity Hamburg GmbH on all fundamental issues related to the development of HafenCity Hamburg.
